Life is a race

Life is a race
One at a hurried pace
Hurdles to displace
Pains time wont efface

Life is a race
From the day I showed my face
My birth surely an act of Grace
How can I take God’s place

Life is a fervid race
I’ve come to this high place
Not by the sweat on my face
But by His sovereign Grace

Life is a torrid race
One with ever-increasing pace
Trying hard to outplace
To leave a mark in place

Life is a bubbly race
A striving to find a place
When He has given us a place
Eternal Life and a heavenly palace

Life may be a race
But one to run in our called place
Not to strive to take another’s place
But to finish our given race. Selah.

PS
Run the straight race through God’s good Grace
Lift up thine eyes and seek His face
Life with its paths before thee lies
Christ is the way and Christ the prize.
